California and Arizona are due for 2.5 GigaWatts of new solar thermal power plants in the next few years. Eleven different companies are vying for desert real estate to provide electrical consumers in Arizona and California with a much needed new source of power. Solar Thermal is more efficient than Photovoltaic power, is easier to store for load matching, and can generate 3-phase AC power right from the generator.
