"Indian company Tata Motors is developing a car it aims to sell for about $2,500--the cheapest, by far, ever made." When it goes on sale in 2008, it will "mark the advent of India as a global center for small-car production" and give millions of people who currently must use cheaper means of transport the chance to drive cars.
