This is an interesting, if not depressing, article about the idea of creating new fuel sources from Lithium. The article covers a variety of issues pertaining to the idea of using Lithium as a "magic solution" to our devastating need for fuel. It focuses greatly on Bolivia, a nation which carries the greatest amount of Lithium to be mined, but is less than supportive of foreign miners. The article also mentions that most estimates determine that if harvested, the Lithium supply would run out in ten years, making it only a short time solution. All in all, the article is quite fascinating, but very depressing. Why can't people see that this would be just another quick fix and that we need to focus on coming up with new technology? Not just other ways to deplete our planet.
