A six-member team of leading semiconductor manufacturers has announced plans to develop 28-nanometer high-k manufacturing technology that will compete with both Intel and TSMC, another leader in silicon manufacturing.
The move may also have an effect on AMD, which uses one of the manufacturing partners, GlobalFoundries, to manufacture its microprocessors.
