The deep philosophical rift between the U.S. and Japan on the humanoid robotics question came to light recently in an interview by CNET with iRobot CEO Colin Angle, whose company ostensibly represents the epicenter of commercial robotics in the United States. When asked about the utility of a humanoid robot, Angle dismissed the idea by suggesting that the question of practicality is heavily on the side of iRobot and took as an example the Warrior bot.
