1. The probability is that we are currently in the singularity and have been for a long time. The effort of humans trying to determine the form of future intelligence is somewhat like asking any living being of ten or fifty thousand years ago to take a guess at what the world would look like today. They might guess, and they may have even guessed correctly in some aspect, but they probably would not have had any real understanding of it. In other words, in terms of the Singularity, there would have been some point in the past that they could not have negotiated with the thinking capability they had. My observation is the Singularity is a wave that continues propagating into the future.
